This past holiday season, one of our organization members was playing basketball at a local gym in White Plains, New York. A conversation was struck up on the basketball court with a Syracuse University student, Alex, who was home for the winter holiday. During the conversation Alex mentioned that Syracuse supported philanthropic and community events and that he had interest in pursuing a Pink Cleats event. Alex contacted his fraternity members and the group decided to host the first “Campus 3-on-3” basketball tournament. Alex introduced Pink Cleats to Zach Weisleder and Dylan Ross, the Philanthropy Chair and Assistant Philanthropy Chair of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. With their help, Pink Cleats has set up a 3-on-3 basketball tournament with hopes of making the tournament a staple at Syracuse University and other colleges. The inaugural tournament occurred March 2020.
