ABOUT PINK CLEATS

Pink Cleats first started back in 2013 when Robert Grossman was coaching his daughter’s soccer team. On occasion they would organize soccer clinics and some tournaments. Over time, more people in their inner circle were affected by cancer. Having so many people affected by cancer moved them. Afterwards they decided to combine their passion for soccer and other athletic activities to form PINK CLEATS, COACHES AGAINST CANCER. The organization was established and they hope to FIGHT CANCER THROUGH SPORTS by conducting various athletic themed events.

Our Mission at Pink Cleats, Coaches Against Cancer is to provide supportive recreational and athletic opportunities, including soccer, basketball, lacrosse and more, while raising money for a great cause. While Pink Cleats events were initially targeted toward female athletes, the events have evolved to become co-ed.

In addition to on-going athletic events, we have also initiated a nationwide campaign for a co-ed college campus Fun Run. The inaugural run will be conducted at the University of Maryland. Other universities have expressed interest in hosting the event at their respective colleges.

Pink Cleats was founded in 2018 by New York attorney Robert Grossman. Robert and his daughter both enjoyed recreation and athletics. Although they both had hectic schedules, sports became a great outlet for them to spend time together and bond over shared pastimes. After seeing several close friends and family members battle cancer, Robert decided to put that passion to use in the search for the cure, and Pink Cleats was born.

The motto of Pink Cleats, Coaches Against Cancer is  “Fighting Cancer through Sports”.

Our organization aims to use sports to connect young people with their community, while raising money for cancer education, assistance, and research. Proceeds raised go to Gilda’s Club in White Plains, NY and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City, New York.
